Dogs are a man’s best friend. They’re loyal and therapeutic for most of us. Especially during the pandemic when we got isolated from the world our dogs were our closest companions and kept our hopes high when we were ready to give up. Where the dogs are so pure and loving creatures, they demand attention and love. They are curious creatures who love to explore and wonder about.

January is marked as the Walk Your Dog Month. Dogs get excited when they’re taken out for a walk, it’s the part of the day dogs are impatiently waiting for. Staying at home and staying in the same place all day long can be very boring for them and boredom can lead to a bad mood and destruction. We don’t want that now do we?

A walk makes the dog feel uplifted, keeps the spirits high, and encourages the dog to continue loving their humans. The walk is also considered as a healthy activity not only for the dog but for the person too. A walk keeps the person healthy and fit, improves cardiovascular fitness, lowers blood pressure, and helps build muscles. Physically being active releases endorphins in the brain that makes one feel happy.

At home the dogs and pets we have usually don’t get the attention and are mostly neglected because multiple tasks are being done at once and our attention is divided. Leaving the house and dedicating a fixed time to you and your dog can prove to be a refreshing experience for both, releasing stress and promoting health. It’s always so hard to go out for a walk on your own, your inner self always talks you out of that decision. On the other hand, owning a dog changes a lot of things, those puppy eyes begging you to take him out for a walk are mostly harder to turn down.

Going out for a walk with your dog is a whole experience in itself. It’s never that the dog has to JUST walk, doggie would want to play games, doggie would want to do tricks, chase a random squirrel, get to know other dogs, bark at random trees, and so on….. There are different other activities attached to walking and it’s a sight for sore eyes.

Dogs are just amazing in every way possible, as much as they are a comfort animal for us it’s fascinating to see how without fail, they will continue loving their human. Although dogs should be cherished and loved every single day sometimes, we get caught up with our lives and forget to reciprocate that love in many ways. So let “walk your dog month” be a sweet reminder for you all to cherish your dogs and look after them well. Dogs have been our companions since the dawn of times and deserve all the love from us.

Nothing makes you smile more than looking into the face of a dog that loves you!!
